| Obituary: |
God in his merciful love, called Ed to be with him on May 25, 2010 after courageously fighting years of lymphoma cancer. Ed’s first priority was his family. He was dedicated to the growth and development of his grandsons and most of all, loved the time he spent playing and watching sports with them. In this spare time, he enjoyed bowling, reading, exercising, listening to music and was passionate for higher education. His sense of humor will be missed. He attended St. Ann’s Elementary School and Crozier Tech High School. While in the United States Air Force he attended St. Mary’s University and SMU. He then began his career at Texas Instruments and retired from Halliburton Geophysical Services.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Christine Diaz, his daughters Annette Diaz and Teresa Diaz along with his two grandsons, Josh Diaz and Kit Diaz; sister, Mona Arriaga (Mike); brother Ernest (Margie Davila Diaz); brother Adolph; brother-in-law Victor Sanchez (June); brother-in-law Cecil Sanchez (Kathleen); numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends at Treemont. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the kind and loving care of the medical staff at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Presbyterian Hospital and Treemont Rehabilitation Center, and especially to the many friends who have prayed for our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and “Coach”. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Ann’s Alumni/Friends of Little Mexico Scholarship Fund in memory of Eduardo Diaz, c/o 6209 Ellsworth Ave, Dallas, TX, 75214. Inurnment will be held 10:30AM Thursday June 3, 2010 at DFW National Cemetery.
